Youth Newsletter

In this letter, you will find up-to-date information aimed at people under 29 in our district. We share information, among other things, about the Digiraati discussion starting on 4 February, the Youth Community meeting taking place in Outokumpu on 21–22 February, and the Youth General Meeting to be held in Tampere on 27–29 March.
Take part in the Digiraati online discussion “The Red Cross of Young People’s Dreams in Savo-Karelia” from 4–18 February
We invite young people and young adults in our district to take part in an online discussion about what the Red Cross of Young People’s Dreams could look like in Savo-Karelia.
How should we operate so that young people are better taken into account in our activities and our work invites new young people to join?
What kinds of development needs do you see in Red Cross activities in your local area from a young person’s perspective?
What changes should we make to our activities from the perspective of young people?
The discussion will take place anonymously on the Digiraati platform. Register for the discussion here. You will receive instructions and a registration link by email. We will compile a summary of the discussion, which will be shared with the District Board and used in preparing youth initiatives. Use your voice and share your thoughts, experiences, and ideas — they matter!
Meeting of the Youth Community in Outokumpu, 21–22 February!
Welcome to the Savo-Karelia District Youth Community meeting of the Finnish Red Cross at the Pellinmäki Leisure Centre in Outokumpu on Saturday–Sunday, 21–22 February 2026!
During the meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet other young people and young adults from our district and spend relaxed time together. This time, we will also have a meaningful opportunity to influence the development of Red Cross activities, as we will jointly document young people’s wishes for the District Board, among others. The Digiraati discussion will serve as a basis for possible initiatives.
Whether you are interested in making an impact or simply spending time together, you are warmly welcome to join in your own way! Sign up here to participate!
Youth General Meeting in Tampere, 27–29 March!
The Youth General Meeting is the Finnish Red Cross’s national channel for youth influence and an advisory body for developing the organisation’s activities. The next Youth General Meeting will be held in Tampere at the end of March. You can find the programme here: Youth General Meeting 2026.
This year, the Savo-Karelia District can send 9 voting youth delegates, and we will cover their participation costs. Could you be one of them? Apply to take part here: Application for the Youth General Meeting 27–29 March.
