Join us on Hunger Day!

The Hunger Day, organized every year in September-October, is the main campaign of the Finnish Red Cross, where we collect funds for the disaster relief fund. The disaster fund enables rapid humanitarian aid where it is most needed.

Participate and help!

Hunger Day's collection with a donation box is an easy way to do volunteer work and help others. Collecting donations with a donation box is rewarding: in just one hour, you can collect enough to provide someone with vital assistance.

The next Hunger Day collection with a collection box will be held on 25-27.9.2025.

During the collection, our local branches organize events where anyone can try collecting donations with a donation box. Even small children can collect with an adult. Many also collect with a dog as a companion, like HUP's charming rescue dog group.

Visibility for partners as well

Collection events are pleasant and visible places for collaboration with companies, sports clubs, educational institutions, and other members of the local community. Partners can also organize their own collection campaigns and online collections. A day as a collector is an eye-opening and thought-provoking experience for many, which is meaningful to share with their own team.

Companies that make donations receive the Red Cross communication package for companies.

We encourage schools, educational institutions, companies, and large groups to agree well in advance on cooperation for Hunger Day with the nearest Red Cross branch.
