Everyone in the Red Cross is part of overall preparedness. To strengthen our readiness for assistance tasks and emergency operations, we organize a joint, district-wide preparedness exercise at least once a year in HUP. The next HUP preparedness exercise, HUP24, will be held on November 7 and 9, 2024.
The Helsinki and Uusimaa district and branches will organize a preparedness exercise in Uusimaa on November 9, 2024. This year’s theme for the preparedness exercise is the distribution of material support.
Orientation Webinar on November 7, 2024
In the orientation for the preparedness exercise on November 7, 2024, remote training on the distribution of material support will be provided. We hope as many volunteers as possible will participate in this training.
The distribution of material support is part of regular domestic aid activities and can be related to all kinds of assistance situations. Therefore, it is beneficial for us to have as many volunteers as possible familiar with the distribution of material support.
The orientation webinar will be held in Finnish. You are welcome to join online, even to brush up your Finnish listening skills.

Regional Exercises on November 9, 2024
Branches will organize exercises regionally in cooperation. We will update additional information about the regional exercises on this page during October.
Registration for the regional exercise is done through Oma. Select your area and click on the registration page (all pages in Finnish):
The Eastern Uusimaa exercise will be held in Porvoo’s Emäsalo in conjunction with the Vapepa 60th anniversary camp and training event from October 18-20, 2024. For families with children and young people, the "Saaren sankarit" adventure track will be organized alongside the same event on October 19, 2024. Registration for these events has ended.
