We passed! HUP keeps the Green Office -certificate
The Helsinki and Uusimaa district office has successfully passed the audit of its environmental system. Therefore we get to keep our WWF Green Office certificate.
HUP has now passed WWF's Green Office certification for the second time. After the previous audit, which was carried out in 2021, we have moved to a more compact office space and aligned our catering, for example, to be even more climate-resistant.
As an important measure in HUP's environmental program, the auditor praised the inclusion of environmental goals in the district's strategy, which we are working on for the next update of the strategy.
A healthy and safe environment is vital for humans, so by protecting the environment, we also fulfill the basic purpose of the Red Cross's activities to protect human life. We get a purpose for our climate work from our own activities, which also makes it easier to make environmentally friendly choices. However, this must also be aligned in the strategy, because we plan our operations accordingly, explains Heidi Hellman, organization planner who coordinates HUP's environmental management system.
